Research & Evidence

Prostatonin: Key Ingredients

Prostatonin contains a combination of two specific extracts from Pygeum africanum (African plum tree) and Urtica dioica (Stinging nettle). The specific extracts used in Prostatonin – known as PY 102® (bark extract) and UR 102® (root extract) – have been researched together in 5 clinical trials.

Food for thought: 75% of men over 50 have symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. A specific combination of African plum tree and stinging nettle may help.1-5

What makes Prostatonin different?

Natural healthcare products can vary considerably depending on the species of plant chosen, the way it’s grown and harvested, and the extraction and production process. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure the active ingredient in your product is the same type, and in the same quantity, as the one used in clinical trials.

In Prostatonin, we take care to use the same specific extracts (PY 102 and UR 102) in the same amounts that have been proven in clinical studies to relieve the symptoms of early BPH.  That’s why you can be sure that Prostatonin offers the same benefits as demonstrated in the clinical trials.

FAQs

BPH is a slow, progressive, non-cancerous, enlargement of the fibromuscular and epithelial structures of the prostate gland.

BPH causes problems that are categorised as irritative or obstructive.

Irritative symptoms are caused by the stress effect on the bladder having to work harder against the obstructing prostate and include:

  • Urgency
  • Frequency
  • Nocturia (waking up at night to urinate)

Obstructive symptoms are those caused directly by the narrowing of the urethra by the prostate and include:

  • Decreased force of the urinary stream
  • Hesitancy (takes time to get stream started)
  • Intermittency (the urine stream starts and stops)
  • Incomplete emptying
  • Stranguria (having to push urinate)

Men with symptoms of early medically confirmed BPH. Especially:

  • Men aged 40 to 60 years who have the first symptoms of BPH
  • Men older than 40 years who have a history of BPH in the family and want to prevent this condition

Prostatonin is suitable for long term use, as BPH is a chronic condition. Since there are no clinical trials with a treatment duration of more than 8 months, it is suggested to take a break at this point of time. The break may last 2 weeks. After this Prostatonin may be continued.

Gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g. nausea, stomach pain, vomiting) which are mild and transient have occasionally been observed.

Diabetics should take into consideration the total amount of carbohydrates: glucose (81 mg/capsule corresponding to 21Kcal/capsule).

Prostatonin does not contain gluten.
